Hosts Courtney Donovan Smith (石東文) and Michael Turton (麥哲恩) explore a series of theories as to why Foxconn founder Terry Gou decided not to follow through and run as an independent, and come up with lots of theories–but while many could have been the truth, none feel completely correct. Ex-VP Annette Lu and seven others announced they will run for president as well, but all will have trouble collecting the over 280,000 signatures required. Our hosts examine the strategic reasons for Lu’s run, as well why the PFP and the NPP might have solid strategic reasons for running candidates as well–and why Terry Gou running for the KMT or PFP isn’t out of the question.
